The FTC has extended their deadline for the third time!
Within hours of their latest deadline, the FTC has again decided to extend the deadline to NOVEMBER 1, 2009 of this important new rule. Click here for their press release.
Remember, it is conventional wisdom that the FTC will not actively enforce the rule UNTIL THERE IS A THEFT. Then the rule allows for enforcement from the FTC, the Attorney General, OR THROUGH PRIVATE RIGHT OF ACTION (civil lawsuit, in other words).
Do not delay to get this in place! It isn't that difficult, and the costs could be tremendous!
